The Site
Waterside, a flagship development of 173 dwellings from Avant Homes. With
significant underground constraints, a noise constraint from the adjacent
A-road and strong scheme ideas from the Local Authority, Avant Homes
needed support with planning, design and visualisation for this Reserved
Matters application.
The Scheme
With our unique service offering across all planning, design and visual
disciplines, we were delighted to be instructed on this application; part of a wider
masterplan for regeneration of the Chesterfield Waterside area. We prepared
a detailed site layout, a set of contemporary house types and 3D visuals for
the development. The surroundings were key to the designs with views of
the crooked spire and the Chesterfield Canal to consider. We also produced a
Planning Statement, Design Compliance Statement and, supporting materials
and boundary treatments plan.
The Success
We successfully secured officer support and a unanimous approval for a layout
and set of contemporary house types and apartments for the development.
